Yeah, I know it’s cliche as all get-out, but you can screw off with your “omg that’s so cheesy,” remarks. It’s a new year, a new decade, and it’s important to set goals for yourself. Why not make them new year goals?
Some of the goals I’ve set for the new year include:
Lose 20 lbs By April
I really want to get down to my ideal weight before we start trying to get pregnant again. I see my OBGyn in April, so after that appointment is when I will be going off of my birth control, and talking with my OB and psychologist about medication changes, if necessary.
I feel like a lot of the physical challenges of pregnancy can be slightly alleviated if I start out in-shape. I’ll be using My Fitness Pal to track my food and exercise. Which brings me to my next goal…
Exercise At Least Once A Day
Even if it’s just a quick walk around the block, or one of my Insanity DVDs, I want to challenge myself to make the conscious decision to exercise daily. It goes hand-in-hand with my next goal, pertaining to improving my self-image.
Improve My Skin Care Routine
Anyone who wears makeup well will tell you that the whole look begins with the base; your skin. I have been known to go to plop into bed exhausted at the end of the day, forgetting to brush my teeth or properly wash my face. The resulting break-out will ruin most of my makeup efforts for the next week.
So, I need to fit that routine somewhere else into my schedule, and streamline the process as much as possible. It’s going to take some work, but I intend to find the right methods for me in 2020.
Take A Selfie A Day
In an added effort to improve my self-image, I want to challenge myself to take one picture of myself a day. Not only will this motivate me to get all done up more frequently, but it will also help me to see myself in the best light daily (both figuratively and literally).
Potty Train Riley
I’ve already been working on this one, but it’s honesty not going that great. So, I think it deserves to be a big goal for the year. It will make me so proud to have a potty trained kiddo. (Not that I’m not already ridiculously proud of Riley.)
Daily Riley Time
I already spend 98% of my time with Riley, but I have been guilty of being on my phone a lot (cough, cough, like now, cough cough), or just doing something else. Not all the time, but more than I should. In 2020, I want to make sure that Riley gets my full attention for something every day. We can do an activity together, play outside or in the play room, or go out somewhere. No phone, no side-projects or to-do list… Just a Mama and her Little Bear.
